Hiking up Mt. Champlaine with my husband and daughter I noticed a gleam of blue on a bush to the side of the trail. Wiping the sweat out of my eyes and looking closer I found to my joy that it was a blueberry bush covered with berries. Wild blues are sweeter and more intense than their domestic cousins and soon my daughter and I were eating our fill. (As with any foraging do be sure that you have correctly identified the plant and leave enough for wildlife.)
On our way home we stopped at the grocery store and I found a box of local berries; with a bit of whipped cream and some strawberries dessert was ready.
I'd love to hear from you!
