Every year my apples are damaged by codling moth. This year I am declaring all out war with a yell of “Back off moths, those apples are mine!”.
I am using codling moth traps to lure in and catch the little rascals.
Trichogramma wasps to get the ones not stuck in the traps.
Last but not least I am covering the small fruit with thick nylon footies to prevent burrowing as the fruit ripens.
Here’s what the footies look like as the apple grows.
Here’s to visions of glorious apples come fall!
I'd love to hear from you!
