While WSU and the UW will be battling for gridiron supremacy, WSU Extension and the UW Botanic Gardens will be collaborating to jointly host a conference about recent research and issues related to regional food security.

Plenary speakers include:
Aaron Reardon, Snohomish County Executive discussing work at the county level, highlighting urban – rural opportunities
Richard Conlin, President of the Seattle City Council will offer a brief history of Seattle’s Local Food Action Initiative, followed by a status update for the code changes adopted in August, and outline next steps.
Governor Gregoire (invited) to speak about state level activities related to food security.
