Over the weekend, things were starting to slow down a bit. We’re in a routine with the goats– milking Ophelia, feeding Smalls with a bottle–watering the garden and, oh yes, going to work and getting the children where they need to be. So it was time to get baby chicks!
Off to the Issaquah Grange to select two Silver Wyandottes and a Sussex Pullet. Before venturing out into the larger coop, they are camped out in a plastic bin with a warming light, food and water for the next few weeks. Madeline has named the large black one Tiger Lilly and the others are Number One and Number Two until Richard and Helen come up with names.
