Does Your Big Idea Need Funding? Meet Agriculture 2.0

If anyone feels like taking a trip to the Bay Area this month, there’s a conference going on in Palo Alto that aims to sync up entrepreneurs working to improve America’s food system and the investors ready to capitalize them. Titled Agriculture 2.0, the conference is sponsored by NewSeed Advisors, US Venture Partners, and SPIN-Farming and is being held Wednesday, March 24. The cost is a bit steep at $499, but it includes all program sessions–led by influential people in the sustainable agriculture industry, lunch and cocktail reception.

The conference has identified a number of closely linked, Silicon-style goals:

- Create an organized forum where entrepreneurs can meet investors who are in synch with the sustainable agriculture  industry

- Present the case that sustainable agriculture is the fastest-growing niche within the broader agriculture industry.

- Demonstrate that for-profit companies offer both solutions and compelling investment opportunities.

- Strengthen the network of for-profit management teams.

- Highlight supporters of sustainable agriculture in corporate agribusiness.

- Stimulate collaboration among the creators of scaleable sustainable food businesses.

- Demonstrate compelling  agricultural technology  innovations.

- Show small businesses how to connect with USDA grant programs, loan programs, and to attract angel investors.

There are over 200 confirmed attendees, and each one represents an opportunity to connect with someone who will impact the future of sustainable agriculture in a big way. Company presenters in the agriculture track include: 18 Rabbits; Aero Farm Systems;  BTTR Ventures;  Capay Valley Growers;  Cityscape Farms LLC;  Driptech Inc.; Estancia Beef;  FoodLogiQ;  Inka Biospheric Systems, LLC.;  Itronics Inc;.
