Call to Action: Help Move Washington Food Policy Council Bill Forward

As we reported on a few weeks back, State Senator Jacobsen has introduced a bill–Senate Bill 6343–to establish a Washington Food Policy Council. And although the bill moved unanimously thru the Senate Agriculture Committee, it is now backlogged before the Senate Rules Committee.

The deadline to get bills out of the Senate is next Tuesday, February 16, and there are 150 bills waiting for action on the floor of the Senate right now. Needless to say, there is a limited amount of time remaining to move bills forward to the full Senate for consideration.

That’s where You come in!

Now is the time to call Senators that are members of the Senate Rules Committee (see list below) urging them to move this bill out of the Rules Committee and onto the Senate Floor. If any of these Senators represent you, please call and leave a message to move the bill out of the committee. (1-800-562-6000).
