Food-Centric Trip to San Francisco: Day 3

By the third day my legs were getting a bit tired so before I set off on journey to Sausalito and a 12-mile urban hike across the Golden Gate Bridge, I refueled at a little cafe called Farm:Table in East Nob Hill. This place updates their daily menu via a Twitter Feed–scrumptious food and tech savvy too! What you’re seeing in the picture is a french baguette with avocado, hard-boiled egg, and homemade mango chutney accompanied by a warm bowl of marionberry-dark chocolate bread pudding.

The owner of Farm:Table convinced me that my next stop had to be the Ferry Building Marketplace on the waterfront, where San Francisco’s Saturday Farmers Market is held. Inside the building was a flurry of artisan food shops and coffee roasters, including the very popular Blue Bottle Coffee Company (see the line off to the left-that’s just the line for a cup of their coffee!).

Outside the building stood rows upon rows of farm stands selling everything from organic kiwis (yumm!) to stalks of brussel sprouts.
